Jacob was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Upon attending the University of California, Davis and interning in Sacramento for a non-profit dedicated to commercial tobacco prevention and control, he continued to pursue an academic and professional focus in public health policy.
From university institutions to state agencies, Jacob has a decade of experience in stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, research, education and outreach, technical assistance, and program planning. Upon moving with his husband to the Pacific Northwest, Jacob attended the University of Washington and earned a Master of Public Health degree with a focus in Health Systems and Policy. Throughout the duration of his graduate training, Jacob was also a program Fellow of the University of Washington Tobacco Studies Program.
Jacob is extremely excited to join the Counter Tools team. His professional experience and training in public health policy has fueled his commitment to advancing equity-centered policy approaches that support community health and resilience.
